Gouin Canopy Project – Polycarbonate Roof
Rockland, Ontario
Polycarbonate Roof

We recently completed a beautiful and technically challenging project for Carole Gouin in Rockland, Ontario—a custom shed-style canopy built on her second-floor deck.

Project Overview

Carole wanted to create a covered outdoor space that would let her enjoy her deck in comfort throughout the changing seasons. Her goal was to have protection from the sun and other elements without compromising the open feel or the clean lines of her home’s exterior.

Because the deck was elevated and already had existing aluminum railings, our team needed to take a careful and creative approach to make everything work together seamlessly.

Design & Construction Highlights

  • Shed-Style Canopy: Designed to provide both shade and protection from rain while maintaining a sleek, modern look.
  • Structural Integration: We replaced the original 2-inch railing posts with 4-inch posts from our system, ensuring the new structure could support the canopy while remaining visually cohesive.
  • Custom Adjustments: Modifications were made to the railing sections to accommodate the larger posts and achieve a perfect fit.
  • Elevated Installation: Working on a second-floor deck required precision and safety, and our team handled the installation efficiently and securely.

Client Impact

With the new canopy in place, the client now enjoys:

  • A comfortable, protected space for relaxing or entertaining on her upper deck.
  • Year-round usability, with shade from the sun and shelter from the rain.
  • A clean, professional finish that enhances the overall look and value of her home.

This project highlights our team’s ability to combine engineering precision with custom design, turning even challenging installations into seamless, elegant results.
