Family House – Louvered Roof – Salt Lake City

George has a big family and is the party house for entertaining. He had plans to build and very large (18×38) structure to product shade and protection form the elements that their family could enjoy. He wanted it to look modern and maintain the style of his home, have limited posts and stay tall enough to not take away from his great views of the mountains.

We were able to meet every demand! Due to some heavier snow loads we experience in Utah, we used our larger 4×8” beams and 8×8” posts to support the Louvered roof that is connect to his home on the other two side. We were also able to avoid putting another post close to the house and rather used a cable system for the retractable screen to still fully enclose the space. It turned out to be a real showpiece and the client and we could be happier.
